About Georgia Lord
Georgia has thirty-five years of experience as an attorney. This experience includes work as a litigator, work within the court system, and service on academic faculty. From 2008 until the summer of 2014, she served in Fulton Superior Court's Family Division as a Staff Attorney. While at the Family Division, she worked directly on hundreds of cases, handling the problems arising out of an incredibly wide variety of factual situations. She routinely screened requests for emergency handling, advising Judges and Judicial Officers on management of these matters.
Prior to her Fulton Superior service, Georgia had extensive civil rights litigation experience as a practicing attorney. This experience included service as lead counsel in an action that obtained broad relief under the Americans with Disabilities Act for MARTA customers with disabilities. She also very successfully represented five women in sexual harassment and sexual battery claims against the Sheriff of Hart County, Georgia.
In 2014, Georgia returned to private practice. She now advises clients in an extensive range of Family Law matters, proudly offering both conventional and collaborative practice representation to both traditional and nontraditional families. By joining forces with the firm of
Radford Scott, LLP, she is also able to represent individuals with civil rights and civil liberties claims. She particularly enjoys helping individuals enforce their rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act!
